Roderick Eime
has worked in professional media for over twenty-five years.
Beginning
in radio in Adelaide in 1979, Rod moved to print as editor of
the music and lifestyle magazine, Streetbeat,
before relocating to Sydney in 1982. Since that time, he has worked
variously in journalism, publishing, sales, marketing, public
relations and photography, including a period as lecturer in Photojournalism
at Charles Sturt University, Bathurst.
Whilst working
in motoring and motorsport during the late ‘80s and ‘90s,
Rod progressively sharpened his skills as a drive-travel correspondent, documenting several iconic road trips across Australia for the
NRMA’s series, Great
Drives of Australia.
Now a fulltime
professional travel writer and photographer, Rod has developed
an authoritative specialisation in soft adventure and expedition
and small ship cruising in emerging and unusual destinations.

Sunday Telegraph, Virtuoso Life, Vacations
& Travel Magazine, CRUISE Passenger, Worldwide
Cruising News, OUTthere,
HM (Hotel & Accommodation Management), Hilton

Rod is a contributing editor to Cruise Weekly,
and HM.
He holds tertiary
qualifications in Journalism from the University of Queensland,
is a full member of the Australian
Society of Travel Writers (ASTW) and the International
Food Wine and Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA).
In 2008 he won the coveted ASTW Award for Best Australian Story and was runner-up in 2007 and 2006.
